Privacy Policy - Dokkaebi

1. Overview

Dokkaebi ("the App") is a location-based arrival alert service provided by BYJW.Studio ("the Company"). The Company values your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

2. Information We Collect

Dokkaebi accesses the following information:

Location Data (Required): Your device location is used while the app is in use and in the background to determine whether you have arrived. Location data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Destination Searches: When you search for a destination, the search query is sent to Apple's map search (MapKit) to return results. Apple's privacy policy applies to that process.
App Settings: Destinations, alert radius, vibration patterns and favorites are stored on your device.
Advertising Data: Banner ads are shown in the free version. The ad provider (Google AdMob) may collect device identifiers, IP address and approximate location to serve and measure ads.
Purchase Data: Premium (ad removal) is processed through Apple's App Store. We never receive your payment details; the app only checks whether a purchase exists.

3. How We Use Information

Collected information is used only for the following purposes:

Calculating the distance between your current location and your destination
Sending a notification and vibration when you enter the radius you set
Showing your location and destination on the map, and on the Lock Screen (Live Activity)
Delivering arrival alerts to Apple Watch
Serving banner ads to users on the free version

4. Data Storage and Security

Data the app creates — destinations, settings and favorites — is stored only on your device.

Dokkaebi does not operate its own server and does not transmit your location data anywhere. The developer cannot access your location data.

Protection mechanisms:

Local-only storage: Destinations and settings are kept in on-device storage (SwiftData / UserDefaults).
App sandbox: The app runs in the iOS sandbox, so other apps cannot reach Dokkaebi's data.

⚠️ Section 4 describes data the app itself stores and transmits. The third-party services in Section 5 process information separately under their own policies.

5. Third-Party Services

Dokkaebi uses the following third-party services:

Apple MapKit: Map display and destination search. Search queries and approximate location are sent to Apple.
Apple Core Location: Location and radius-entry detection, processed on device.
Google AdMob: Banner ads in the free version. May process device identifiers and IP address for ad delivery, fraud prevention and measurement.
Apple StoreKit: Premium in-app purchase.
SKAdNetwork: Apple's privacy-preserving ad measurement.

The privacy policies of the respective providers (Apple, Google) apply to these services.

6. App Tracking Transparency and Personalized Ads

The app may ask for tracking permission in order to show personalized ads (iOS App Tracking Transparency).

Declining does not limit any app feature. Ads simply become non-personalized.
You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
If you purchase Premium, no ads are shown and tracking permission is never requested.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

Individual deletion: Remove saved destinations and favorites inside the app.
Delete the app: Removing the app deletes all local data (destinations, settings, history).
Revoke location access: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, at any time.

8. Third-Party Sharing and Your Rights

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We do not share information beyond what is necessary for the services listed in Section 5.

You may exercise the following rights at any time:

Revoke location and tracking permissions in iOS Settings
Delete data stored in the app
Delete all local data by removing the app
Request access, correction or deletion of personal data (see Section 11)

9. Children's Privacy

Dokkaebi does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated. Any changes will be notified through the app or this page.
